Why set up a Blog?
Blogs are a great way to keep in touch with customers and clients. Through your blog you can provide useful info such as hints and tips, company news, news to staff, or new product announcements. If you're a graphic designer, web developer, photographer or artist, you can use WordJot to showcase your latest work. WordJot can also be used to publish files such as PDF or Word Documents and press releases. If you're running an event a WordJot Blog is great to keep in touch with attendees, suppliers and the media.

How is WordJot better than sending an email blog from Outlook on my computer?
Sending mail from your computer can be problematic once you reach a large number of subscribers. Most ISP (Internet Service Providers) will limit the number of emails you can send at once, often to about 80 or so, meaning you have to send out your blog in small batches.
Another disadvantage is you have to manually manage your mailing list. WordJot will take care of that all for you, allowing users to subscribe themselves and unsubscribe themselves with a click of a link.
-
How is WordJot better than other email blog systems?
WordJot combines the advantages of both email blogs and a website. It's easy to browse and read your blog online as well as via email. Search engines can find and index your blog which is a good way to attract new readers and customers.
WordJot also supports publishing posts to specific categories, so you can have multiple groups of users reading the same blog, but only receiving what's relevant to them.
-
How is WordJot different to blogging systems?
WordJot was built around sending news to subscribers via email and RSS feeds, while most blog systems only support RSS feeds. Although it is possible to add email subscriptions to blogs through third party systems, WordJot provides a simple, all in one solution.
Emails from WordJot also match your chosen template and design of your blog site.

What is RSS?
RSS is a way to subscribe to a website. To subscribe to an RSS feed you'll need an RSS reader which is a bit like an email programme, but designed to read RSS feeds instead of mail. For more information see whatisrss.com and for a list of RSS readers and resources see the mashable.com RSS Toolbox. WordJot automatically allows users to subscribe to your blog via RSS.
-
Do emails from WordJot avoid spam filters?
Unfortunately it's impossible to guarantee that all emails will get through to all subscribers, but we try our best to make the emails as un-spammy as possible.
-
Can I send multiple news posts in one email?
Not at the moment, each post is sent as an individual email. To work around this, you can use headings to write multiple news items in one post.
-
Can I post videos on my blog?
Yes you can place embedded videos and other widgets on your site. Firs you'll need to upload your video to YouTube.com, then copy and paste the embed code into your WordJot Blog post. You will need to edit the HTML for your post, click the HTML button that's found in the editor toolbar.
